CHAPTER III: STAMPEDE

[We see a young boy in outlandish attire running through a dessert canyon. A number of behemoths run after him. Ramza can eventually be seen walking along the cliffs above the drop, witnessing the chase.]

RAMZA: He'll never be able to outrun them!

[Ramza jumps from where he stands towards the stampede, and the shot changes to the youth, who has come up against a wall. He turns around, sword in hand. The horns of a behemoth enter the frame as he gasps. The shot returns to the boy as he readies his weapon.]

LUSO: If it's dinner you're after, I'll feed you a length of iron.

[One of the behemoths roars, the blast of its breath blowing against the boy's face.]

LUSO: Have it your way then.

[One of the monsters charges against the wall, nearly pinning Luso there as he jumps just out of its way. He tries to make a dash through the pack, but one of the behemoths cuts him off as he runs. He charges towards it without faltering.]

LUSO: Let's see how you swallow this!

[He leaps towards its head, but as he brings his sword down to strike a blow, it begins to shatter against the creature's horns. As it breaks, the behemoth shakes him away and he is slammed against one of the cliff's walls. The mosnter moves as if to bite him, and he shields himself, bracing for the attack. Suddenly, however, a sword flies between the two of them. The boy turns to look from the direction in which it came and sees the figure of Ramza who kneels, having just thrown the weapon.]
