ORIGINAL PLAYSTATION TRANSLATION

Goltana went to Lesalia and confined Ruvelia in Bethla for kidnapping the Princess, and let the Princess accede to the throne.

But Larg insisted Orinas was the legitimate successor and had him accede to the throne. Then Larg became the regent as a guardian.

Immediately after, Larg sent the Hokuten let by Orinas to Bethla to rescue the Queen. Meanwhile, Goltana sent the Nanten led by Ovelia...

This is the beginning of the upheavel which would later be called the 'Lion War'....

WAR OF THE LIONS TRANSLATION

Following his sack of the royal capital of Lesalia, Duke Goltanna banished Queen Louveria to Besselat for her hand in the conspiracy and crowned Princess Ovelia queen.

But Duke Larg, insisting that Prince Orinus was the true and rightful heir, at once crowned the child-prince and declared himself regent.

Moving then to free the queen, Duke Larg dispatched the Order of the Northern Sky to Besselat in the name of the new-crowned king. Duke Goltanna in turn set the Southern Sky to march in Ovelia's name.

The curtain had risen on what history would one day record as the War of the Lions.

Prince Goltana marched on Lesalia. Accusing Queen Ruvelia of masterminding the plot to kidnap the princess, Goltana imprisoned the Queen in Fort Bethla and had Ovelia crowned and seated on the Lion throne. Immediately, Prince Larg declared to the realm that Prince Orinas was the rightful successor to the throne, naming himself regent to the young prince. Larg then sent the Knights of the Northern Skies to Bethla in Orinas' name to free the Queen. In response, Goltana sent the Knights of the Southern Skies in Ovelia's name to defend the fortress.

Thus began the Lion War, as future generations would know come to call it...

Spurred by the news of Gelwan's treason, Goltanna and the Nanten made an immediate march on Lesalia and overthrew Queen Luveria. Imprisoning her in Fort Besselat, the Nanten Stronghold for crimes against the true heir, Ovelia Atkascha.

Duke Larg, in retaliation, declared Prince Orinus as the rightful successor and crowned himself Regent as both armies amassed at Lesalia, upheaving any sense of peace that had been fought for in the 50-Year War with Ordallia.

Duke Larg had drafted designs to rescue Luveria by sending the Northern Sky east to Fort Besselat after Goltanna retreated following the Queen's abduction. Goltanna followed suit and drew every one of his soldiers back to Fort Besselat to bolster its already legendary defenses.

These were the events that led to one of Ivalice's most infamous and bloody civil wars, 'The War of the Lions.'

王都ルザリアへの上洛を果たしたゴルターナ公は、王妃ルーヴェリアを王女誘拐の首謀者としてベスラへ幽閉し、オヴェリアを即位させた…。

しかし、ラーグ公はオリナスこそが正統の王位継承者であるとして即位させると同時に自分は後見人として摂政の座についた。

すぐにラーグ公は王妃救出のためにオリナス王子を総大将とした北天騎士団をベスラへ派遣した。一方、ゴルターナ公もオヴェリアを総大将とした南天騎士団を派遣…。

後世“獅子戦争”と呼ばれる大乱の始まりである…。
