[Several Death Corps fighters are camped out in the ruins of an old building.]

DEATH CORPS KNIGHT (Male Knight): Hey, did you hear? The Hokuten are moving.

[The man next to him crosses his arms and lowers his head.]

ARCHER: So I heard. What's going to happen to us?

[The knight puts a hand to his face.]

KNIGHT: Forget the Corps and run before we get killed.

[Another man throws up his arms.]

SOLDIER (Male Monk): We'll die anyway even if we follow Wiegraf.

[The knight nods.]

KNIGHT: Exactly. If we get a ransom for the Marquis like Gustav planned, we can get outta this misery.

[Another man, who has been keeping watch by a window, suddenly turns and gestures]

GUARD (Male Knight): Oh, God!! The Hokuten!!

[The shot changes to focus on Ramza's company.]

RAMZA: Let's get the guard first, before the others find us!!
